I also teach sled dog skills, which we call GeePaw Dog Skills to you and your dog. This is perfect for those high energy dogs who love to pull and/or need a job.
Mushing is a great way to exercise your dogs in the colder months, there are lots of dry land and single dog options to enjoy here in NZ, you don’t need a whole team, just a dog who wants to get out and have fun.
GeePaw Sled dog skills is an intro to sled dog sports. Whether you want to learn for fun as a way to exercise your dog or to participate competitively this course gives you the will foundations to ensure safety. Having worked with sled dogs around the world and now settled here with working Alaskan huskies I want to share my knowledge with those interested in getting into the sport.
In the GeePaw program we will teach you about all the different amazing things you can do with your dog, teach you and your dog the basics and help you get on your way. We cover everything from .. sourcing and fitting the right harness, lines and gear. The commands and training tactics. The nutrition and hydration required. Sled dog specific health care, bodywork and stretching. And putting it all together to get out and have fun.
